Happy Thursday! Oliver and I spent most of the day at UNC on Tuesday, but we got a lot done. It’s always hard to have to wake him up and not allow him to eat or drink all morning, but he handles it so well. We waited for labs to come back, and even though his counts were still very low, our doctor did a biopsy since some of his other white counts were going up. We were able to get his chest CT and some swabs for the bone marrow transplant workup as well as a dressing change and intrathecal chemo. He definitely wasn’t feeling his best for the rest of the day and still has some back pain due to the biopsy, but we were glad to be able to get a lot of things checked off the list under sedation.
Our sweet neighbors helped us throw Liam an amazing 4th birthday party outside in our yard last weekend with a ride on train and bounce house. My plan was to have a combined party with the boys turning 2 and 4, but obviously our lives took a turn I didn’t predict. Oliver was able to attend the party safely and especially enjoyed the bounce house. Since we wanted to keep him separate from the other kids, he didn’t get as much time on the bounce house as he would have like and kept talking about how he wanted to jump,so I may have bought the kids a bounce house for our yard…because why not?!
Have a wonderful Easter!
