Thank you all for your prayers for today and tomorrow’s chemo. Today went well! He was given a steroid and Benadryl to prevent any reaction to the chemo, so he promptly went to sleep at 10:00 and woke up after it was over at 12:00. Having him asleep made it much easier to get accurate vitals during the two hour chemo and he would’ve been pretty unhappy if he knew he had EKG stickers on his chest, a chemo drip, pulse ox sticker, and a blood pressure cuff attached to him.

He was pretty unhappy most of today, but our doctor said this chemo can cause some flu-like symptoms. Since he is done with his drip chemo and his counts still look good, he is able to go off the floor if he wants so we went downstairs to walk around for a while today. He got to drive some new cars too!

Tomorrow we will get wheeled down to clinic and he will be put to sleep to do the intrathecal chemo which targets cancer cells that could be in the fluid around the brain. The injection should take about 3 min and then we will wait for him to wake up. After that, he is on his oral chemo for the rest of our time in the hospital (about three more weeks).
