Yesterday was a good day! Oliver isn’t hooked up to an IV pole anymore and is allowed to leave his room and the floor. He enjoys running everywhere around the hall and I told the nurses that maybe if he’s annoying enough they’ll tell our doctor he should go home for awhile. There’s a chance we will get to go home during this treatment course because all that is left is a couple more weeks of oral chemo. Our doctor is still undecided about that because he is and will continue to be very immunocompromised and is susceptible to a bacterial infection. We would need to have him on IV antibiotics within an hour if he spiked a fever. So we feel torn about going home and will do whatever he thinks is best.
Please continue to pray that our family (and all those who are helping us daily) will stay healthy this winter and that Oliver will also stay healthy (he started developing a slight runny nose). Also, that this chemo will work so that he can have a bone marrow transplant.
Thank you for your continued support and prayers!
